North West Sydney Football is excited to announce the appointment of Tony Macko to the Board, effective immediately.
Tony nominated for the vacant position left by Lindsay Donald in late 2021 and will be a welcome member of the team.
Aside from a long and illustrious career in the corporate world as a chartered accountant and company secretary within the resource sector, Tony’s credentials and passion for football and the local region are just as impressive.
Tony is the current president of Pennant Hills Football Club (elected in August 2016) and a committee member since August 2009. He was awarded life membership of the Club in 2015; and continues to play and coach.
"We are thrilled to welcome Tony to the board.” NWSF Chair, Helen Armson stated.
“Tony brings strong local football club experience along with extensive corporate governance knowledge from his professional role as Company Secretary for a mining company.”
“I'm sure he will be a great contributor in achieving our strategy of Connecting our Community through Football - Football 365" , Armson concluded.
Tony was equally as ecstatic in joining the NWSF team at the regional level.
“My love of football stems from my childhood footballing roots in Scotland at a time before money changed the game forever and talent and hard work was rewarded,” Tony stated.
“I have a strong belief in playing the “beautiful game” in a skilful and dynamic way, encouraging respect, fair-play and fun for all, so that football continues to be open to and enjoyed by all.”
“I trust that the experience I have gained over my 35-year professional career, will provide a valuable asset to the NWSF, its 34 member Clubs and the game within our region.”
